I love to build and create things. ALL things. When I'm not in the workshop, I'm most likely either playing guitar or enjoying the outdoors. I've been a carpenter for the last 15 years and I'm getting ready to buy some land and build a homestead of my own. There is also another side to me. A side that writes software for both computers and Android devices. I got interested in electronics at a young age and figured out a way to put the two together. Now one of my favorite pass-times is robotics. I built a 3D printer so that I could easily design and manufacture parts for one-off robots. I might write a separate blog on programming languages electronics tutorials and robotics projects, if there is and interest, but the main purpose of this site is to showcase projects and ideas involving survival prepping, homesteading and self-sustainable living. I am also very interested in renewable green energy. I have built a solar system from scratch for my workshop (designed and built the panels them selves, and built the charge controller circuit for efficiently keeping the batteries at their optimum levels), that was supplimented with a scratch built wind turbine. I will be including projects like these as they will be necessary in my quest for being fully self-sustained and off the grid. If there is a lot of interest in this area, I would be happy to spend some extra time sharing how my current system works and my experiments for expanding these ideas into other uses for the home. I am interested in experimenting and building a solar hot water system that will be mounted on the roof.
I built this website as a way to share my projects and ideas (and, of course, get new ideas) as I design and build a completely self-sustained, off-grid homestead. There will also be projects for general survival. I hope to build a forum to serve as a gathering place for people with like-minded ideas. If you are interested in that, I would suggest following me on one of the social media platforms provided as I will be making reglar updates to the site and adding new features on a regular basis. While most of the projects that I will be posting here will be born out of necessity as I work toward a completely self-sustained and off-grid homestead, there will be projects from time to time that are purely out of my own curiousity for just for fun. I will be putting those projects into their own catagory, so you can either seek them out specifically, or skip them all together.
I also started a YouTube channel, so be sure to subscribe to that as well. I'm going to try to post new videos every week and there will be extra information posted here on this site that isn't necessarily included in the video, either by accident, or by design. That information will be included with the videos post here on the site.
